therapy modalities
Primarily, I am a person-centered therapist, which means I prioritize the therapeutic alliance formed between myself and my clients, and I seek to facilitate my clients' natural abilities for growth and fulfillment. I also utilize cognitive behavior therapy for empowering clients to challenge their self-limiting beliefs. For treatment of anxiety, I love teaching grounding skills and Mindfulness-based stress reduction. I am a trained and experienced EMDR trauma therapy provider (click here to read more about EMDR). I’ve been doing this for almost 5 years and have seen very helpful outcomes. It is an amazing, science-based tool to help process trauma and decrease negative symptoms of PTSD.
sleep wellness
I have specialty training in helping clients achieve better sleep health by recognizing unhelpful patterns and re-training the brain to have optimal circadian rhythms and a natural sleep-drive without the use of problematic sleep aides. I developed a strong interest in sleep wellness early in my counseling career, because rest has such an impact on mental health, as well as physical health.
