frequently asked questions
I charge $150/session. Currently, I can take Medicare parts A and B, United Health, and Aetna. I am able to see out of network, and provide a super-bill, so that clients can submit it to their insurance for reimbursement. I also offer a reasonable sliding scale for those who cannot afford my session rate, or do not have insurance. I have one pro-bono spot per quarter, for those with great financial need, who apply and agree to my terms and conditions. A pro-bono award is equal to 4 free sessions, and the recipient is chosen based on need, willingness to work towards achieving goals, and ability/desire to attend all scheduled sessions. Forms of payment: cards, venmo, checks, cash.
Yes. I ask all clients to give me 24 hours or more notice before canceling or rescheduling. This can be done over text, call, or email. A late cancellation or no-show results in a fee of $100, or your determined session rate, if paying on sliding scale. I give one “free pass" to each client on their first late cancellation. After that, I do charge the fee, because it is a session spot that someone who may have needed it did not get. Also, I value your time, and I kindly ask the same in return.
I also make every effort to limit unanticipated cancelations by confirming appointments the day before.
Everything you say in therapy with me is confidential, but there are limits to confidentiality, as governed by my licensing laws. Those limits include: If you express a desire to harm yourself, or others; if you discuss knowledge of current abuse to adults over 60, children, or dependent adults; and if I receive a subpoena for your records. I am happy to discuss these limits in session, or answer any questions you might have.
